Ten reasons all natural and organic produce is better:

  1. A healthy choice
The food choice you make now will impact your health and the health of your children in the future.

  2. Prevent soil erosion
Soil is the foundation of the food chain in all natural and organic farming.

  3. Protect water quality
Pesticides and chemical fertilizers find their way into our lakes, rivers, streams and oceans. Water covers three-fourths of the planet and is required by all living things.

  4. Save energy
Since most all natural and organic produce must be sold fast once harvested to ensure freshness, it tends to travel a shorter distance from the farm to your plate.

  5. Keep chemicals off your plate
The EPA considers that 60 percent of all herbicides, 90 percent of all fungicides and 30 percent of all insecticides are carcinogenic. Many are also endecrine disruptors.

  6. Protect farm worker’s health
An estimated 1 million people are poisoned annually by pesticides.

  7. Help small farmers
Most farms that grow all natural and organic produce are small ,  independently owned and operated farms of less than 100 acres. The challenge of keeping their produce fresh also means they are generally local businesses. Supporting them stimulates the local economy.

  8. Support a true economy
Conventional food prices do not reflect hidden cost borne by taxpayers, including billions in federal subsidies. Other hidden costs include pesticide regulation and testing, hazardous waste disposal/clean up, and environmental damage.

  9. Promote biodiversity
Biodiversity is nature’s way of creating resilience. Employing natural and organic methods encourage a diversity of crops, soil organisms and beneficial insects.

  10. Better taste
There’s a good reasons many chefs use natural and organic ingredients in their recipes. They taste better.
